please let me know what you think and any info on my fish would be appreciated.

What kinda lights you got in it - look like atinics too me...

I may be wrong

yes one actinic marine blue 42" (not turned on)
one marine blue 420 actinic 32" in a double fitting with one D&D 39w white tube.

please let me know your thoughts on my lighting as i have heard off one person that it is bad for tropical fish but my local shop says its fine.

very odd selection numbers for your fish. You should also probably know what you are buying as it does help when stocking tanks.

what is meant by very odd selection numbers?

any advice welcome about what fish and numbers would be recomended.

 they have all been together for over a week and a half and they are all ok, from what i have been told neons would have gone but the glowlights are a bit bigger and wont be bothered.

Actinics are made to bring out the colours in marine corals and not in FW fish, so they won't be bringing out the colours of your fish as well as a tropical bulb. Also your live plants would photosynthesis much better with a proper tropical light rather than the actinic.

HTH :good:

thanks for that matty i will get those tubes changed, i bought the tank and most equipment recently and it had previously been used for marine hence the tubes fitted.

7" Catfish - Synodontis of some description, but you should ID your fish BEFORE buying them as some Synos get huge.
7" Plec - Which, again ID your fish before buying
Elephant Nose are communal fish and like groups, also are very sensitive to poor waters and hard to get eating properly due to shy nature..you have greedy fish in there so make sure they get to eat enough.
Serpae Tetra - again, you think? Maybe do some research into fish before buying, it will help your tank grow no end if you know what you are buying.

i do believe the tetras would be dinner someday for the firemouth. or the catfish.

a shoal of elephant noses would look damn awesome.
