7" Catfish - Synodontis of some description, but you should ID your fish BEFORE buying them as some Synos get huge.

Looks like a featherfin syno to me I don't think they get much bigger than 7/8 inches.

It's a nice fish though, I envy you!

darkentity thanks for the info, i got the firemouth, catfish, elephant nose and plec off a freind of mine who has had them for some time in a 3' tank with the same type of tetras, he did say he had no problem but the tetras might end up been food but they should be ok because the 4 fish i got off him are used to being with tetras and with my tank been 4' they will have more room.

i have read that the elephant can be shy but he seams to hold his own and gets stuck into the food even pinching some of the cat fishes muscle

thanks for that matty i will get those tubes changed, i bought the tank and most equipment recently and it had previously been used for marine hence the tubes fitted.

What lights are you gonna change to?

not sure matty i was thinking a cool white. the last pictures i put on were with a different tube fitted (i got a few with the tank and kit i bought) it is an Arcadia tube marine white. it is not at bright as what i did have in and the colours look better in the fish too.
