Hii guys and girls,

Im completly new to the site so forgive if i posted on wrong section.

I have had my fish tank for about 3 years and loved looking after it. Loved all my fishes and learned so much aswell. :) In these past year i had so many diffrerent types of fishes so ill go through what i had in order.

Firstly im only 21 so im not a expert but have learned so much and now i help all my cuzins/relatives who are older than me with their fish queries.

I have got Fluval aquarium that has got 100liter capacity. I started with this as it was the perfect starting point and not too big or not too small. With the aqarium i got all the starting bit a small internal filter, heater, decor etc. I set up my first freshwater tropical abut 3 year ago and here are some pics:

It may look like i have got soo many fishes in a small tank but these are all pictures from 3 years so obviously some fishes died and i got new ones.

My internal filter was really rubbish so i had to get a big external one  and i decided to get the Tetratec EX600. which was soo good compared to my shiityy internal one

In the past i have had Clown loaches, Columbian tetras, neon tetras, Pleco, Fightin fish and some different platys. Most of them lived for a year.

So the present day, i have only got some tetras and a huge pleco left in the tank. The reason for joining the forum was to bring back the interest that i had lost during the last year. I'm hopping that by seeing some of your tanks and chatting about fish keeping i wud bring back the fun i had back in the day when i was first allowed to have a tank. :D :D :D

Plz post your coments.

Thanks :good:
Yes it is a fighting fish. I have had for more than two years but sadly he died :( :-(
He was very peacful in the tank and never chased any of the other fishes.

At the moment i only have 3 fishes in my tank. One Neon Tetra, one Platy and one Pleco..
I have had my pleco for more than 2 years and had him since he was ~7cm and now its grown ~15cm.. :hyper:

I changed the set up in tank yesterday. Took out all the plants as they were all rotten and had brown algea on them.
My tank looks like them atm:

I'm trying to give my fish tank a new look. Was thinking of a new rocky scene. So i need some good advise on what more rocks to get, which cave to get and which plants to get. Also i wanted to start keeping some new fishes in there may be some cichilds but dont know for sure yet. :S

Get 5 more neon tetras to help it feel more secure and what type of pleco is it?

Overall nice looking tank.

I will be giving my neon to my cuzin as he has more than 5 in his tank which should help my neon feel a lot better.

I wanted to keep different fishs to the ones i already have like cichilds or similar. Which is the hardiest, cheapest and coloufullest cichild out there?? any advice on them..

I like the changes you've made. It has a cool clean look to it. Just wondering what kind of plec he is? I'm just asking because some plecs can grow to be huge and im afraid of him outgrowing your tank. it's a bummer having to rehome them.

:good: cool tank :good:

Thanks :good:

I just common pleco. I asked the local fish shop and told her the size of the tank before i brought my pleco. She said it should be ok.

Unfortunaltly She was wrong. Very wrong Infact. If you tank is indeed 100L and it is the plec is indeed a common plec. He will outgrow your tank, and he will do it fast. Common Plecs are known to grow as big as two feet long. More commonly one foot long.

The lady at the Lfs may or may not have know this so we must all take the advice we get from our lfs's with a grain or two or three of salt.

Hope i didn't come off as mean. Good thing your finding out now before its too late and he causes some troubles in your tank and it's bioload.

Nitin the newlook looks well. You could put some more rocks in there and as you said hget some cichlids. That couldspur more inerest inthe tank for you cos cichlids are perhaps more characterful than general community

I'm not sure of the dimensions of 1oo litre tank so I may be wrong with suggestions but Kribensis would be a geat addition, they are very colourful have character and will breed as they are so easy , similarly you could try convicts which I think are undervalued fish, they look great in my oinion and again vbreed very easily
also firemouths, egypyian mouthbreeders etc

as I say I ain;t sure of yuo tank dimensions but these fish would bemore exciting than tetras in my opinion. I'd also trade your plec in before he gets too big

good luck
