My Test Levels

So I posted Tuesday that Sunday I did a water change and cleaned one of my filter pads and it caused my ammonia to go up.
Today I did a 50% water change.

PH: 7.4
Ammonia .25 down from .50
Nitrite was 0
Nitrate .05

Will do daily 50%-60% water changes till Ammonia is zero.

When you say you 'cleaned,' what exactly did you do? If it caused an ammonia spike, I am assuming that you cleaned it in tap water, which would have killed off all of your beneficial bacteria?

No I cleaned one of the 4 filter pads in tank water.

No I cleaned one of the 4 pads in thank water. I cleaned 1 pad and did a 40% water change The same day causing ammonia to go up.
