My Tanks

Thanks everyone :) that's made me feel a lot better and im glad there are people out there that approve of them, shows i must be doing something right :).

The 1 with the gravel (30 gallon) is home to my two young red belly piranhas (did have 3 but 1 jumped out... The remaining 2 will be moved to a bigger tank when i can afford it). It has a 150 watt heater set to 24 degrees c and a fluval u2 filter.

The 1 with sand is home to...
4 torpedo barbs (looking for new home asap)
2 kribs
2 gold gouramis
2 opaline gouramis
3 sterbai cories
3 peppered cories
3 Congo tetras (looking for a new home asap)

This tank is a 46 gallon (210 litre) juwel bowfront. It has a 200 watt heater set to 24 degrees c and a interpet pf4 filter. I am doing 30 - 40% water changes weekly using a gravel vac in both my tanks.

Do u think this stocking is ok (when i rehome the barbs and tetras)??

Do you have any aggression issues with the gouramis? I've never had much luck keeping more than 2 gouramis in my 46 gallon. Good morning and welcome! :good: BTW the tanks look nice.

no i havnt had any problems with them but i am aware that they can be aggressive towards each other so i will be keepin an eye on them :)

I really like the second tank you posted. If I may I would recommend putting some plants (fake or real) in there in bunches. That would make the tank look perfect IMO.

Thanks a lot :) the second tank i posted is my main community tank (46 gal) which i am still working on. I havnt quite got it how i want but its getting there slowly. I have recently changed the gravel to sand which has made the tank look a lot better. I have some fake plants i could put in. Thanks for the suggestion. I am always open to new ideas on how to improve the general look of my tanks. Like iv previously said im still new to all this and these are my 1st tanks so still a lot of learning to be done :)

Yeah, you tank still looks really good though. I also have a picture of my tank in my sig. It's my first one as well. Do you have any ideas on how to improve it. I think I'm going to add some plants (fake that is) in the corner to make it have a more vegetation look to it.

Thanks. I appreciate that. Would the tank of yours that you are talking about be the 10 gallon that you are currently cycling?? If not then i sorry for the mistake and what tank would you be refering to??

Yeah the picture is of my 10 gallon. :)

Ok, well from what i can see the tank looks very nice. As its a relatively small tank then i would say you could do as you said and add some more plants but other than that there is not much you could do as you are limited on space and need to keep enough open swimming space for you fish :) I noticed you don't have a background on your tank. Have you considered getting 1? Reason i ask is i didn't used to have 1 on either of my tanks, not everyone does but i thought id get 1 and see how it looked. It made 1 hell of a difference, made my tanks look better. I even read somewhere that backgrounds are good for your fish because they feel more secure reducing stress levels. Now i don't know if this is true but at the same time i don't think your really going to know whether it is or not. All i know is it improved the look lol

I think I'll get a backround when I get my fish :). Thanks for you advice. You make a good point about the plant thing. I won't add to much plants. If I do It will be after I add the fish just to see if they have enough room mire more plants.
