My Tanks(before And After Pics)

Firstly, I'm 12 and breed guppies, show class guppies infact, so that shows how easy it is.

Gourami and bettas are from the same family, and are a definite no no when put together [they will fight]

To breed the guppies, get a ratio of about 1 male to 3 females and after seeing that the females have squared off [the body drops down in a straight line down from the gills, across and back up as a vertical line infront of the anal fin] either put them in a breeding trap, then move the fry to the other tank [hospital] to let them grow up, or, leave th female in the hospital tank with lots of floating plants etc.. in there, then move her back into the main tank aftr she has finished giving birth. Feel free to pm me about anything to do with guppies :good:

Also, with the java moss tied to the rock, raise the rock above the sand, so that the java moss will live and not die.

You could get some corys in with the betta [about 5 pygmy corys] and they might breed in there. But I will explain that later if you do get the corys. I'm currently in the middle of getting a rio 125 or 18 and am making my stocking around fish that I will breed [cockatoo cichlids, guppies, swordtails, corys, cherry shrimp etc..] so I know how great breeding is.

If you ever need me, feel free to e-mail or PM me.

EDIT: I've just noticed your from South Africa  :p

Best Of Luck,

John.

thanks for replying, bt i dnt think i can put copiesinwith the betta in his current tankits 3g so not big enough, wats wrong with south africa and scince you are a fan of endlers can you see if my show class guppies(i was told from the breeder) have a bit of endler in themfromthe orange spots

nice, i got plants in river near mine are they safe to use? if i wash them etc

I don't find anything wrong with africa, its just that I would've liked to excange fish with you every now and then [guppies for guppies] so there are minimal deformities in the fry :D And I cant post to africa lol xD

p.s Yeah, splodges or lines of colour usually indicate to being bred with an endler at one stage. [The endler in my sig is 100% endler and in guppy/endler hybrids there are usually splodgs of colour as well as full body colours :good: Also, your guppy has nice long gonopodium finnage [any longer and he would probably be incapable of breeding :hey:]

yell i havent found any problemas with my plants although i sometimes get a few stow aways(snails or blood worm)enan after rinsing exesively bt nothing bad the snails to not damage my plants and they are so small wou could hardly notice them but they are hardy,

ok so was i lied to when i bought them they aren't show class or can you have mix breed show class guppies, if not i love them anyway i cant wait till the others get their colour :hyper:

 wow! i saw the most beautiful endley guppy hybird today, he was beautifull!!!!
im going back tomorow to see if he is still there.  hay i cant help myself.

:hyper: wow! i was not expectingthat i got the new guppies today put them in the tank came back a few hours later and... there are at least 12 more than when i left the only femails that are mature enough togive birth are the ones i just bought but they both stilllook breggie, wellthe fry are safley moved intothe spawning tank and have been fedcrushed flakes, my first home bread fry :hyper: i probly ddnt get allof them, becase i thinkthey have been in there for more than 2 hours because when i put foodin the tankfor the adults allot them ate (arnt the mothers not ment toeat for 2 hours after they give birth) i will post pics of the fry and new guppies when my camera battery recharges.
but so far does it sound like i am doingt he right thing ????

i am going through the prosess of convincing a friend to give me their old tank, now they have a 145g, and with that i will take my time i am going to do it properly, sand substrait, rokwork, bogwood, fertilizer acurate lighting and if i can convince my mom to allow me co2. and i am also trying to make my 42g look a bit better, and wanting to get wisterria and a hardy grassy carpet,
but there are snails eating my plants!!!!!! so when i can i will try and catch my kuli loach and put him in the same tank as the snails, is there another way, just add copper?? but otherwise i am happy with the current setup 4 the 60l it realy has good cover for the guppie fry and stays green :hyper: thinking of getting a bit of red plants for all the tanks, can anyone give advise on what to use, in my betta tank i am wanting a hardy, small-leaved carpet and preferably not moss or somthing that is rare and will not be found w?ere i live
