Cheers thanks, its a rubbish photo really does not show full width of the tank....

slate was well dusty when i bought it so i washed it about 6 times to make sure, other than that has been fine.
 
Couple more photos...The plant at the back...not sure of name i chopped a piece of and have re planted is growing well, is this ok to do?

Yes, taking cuttings of plants is fine, they'll often grow back very well (but it's always touch and go.) I like your tank. Do keep a close eye on the temperature to make certain that it is suitable for the platies andyour tetras together.

Well the 2 cuttings i have done so far (touch wood) are doing very well, think this is a good sign of healthy tank?!

I check temp evey day, have 2 thermometures (one at each end, one is LCD one is inside just to be safe!)


As for the serpae and platies they are ok, there is one tetra that chases abit but the platies and serpae sometimes shoal together and 99% are fine

just want the plants to fill out abit now


Any ideas what i can put in front of filter?? but withut blocking flow to intake at bottom? and that wont get blown everywhere by current from outlet??
