Hi,

We have the following stock in our tank which is 180L (full details in profile)

8 x Boesemani rainbowfish(1.5")
3 x Clown Loach (1->1.5")
1 x Bristle Nose Pleco
1 x Chocolate Zebra Pleco

Do you think thats its stocked up or would there be room for others? I appreciate the clown loach could be an issue in the future - though have read/heard anything from a 6" -> 12" adult size is possible :X

Thinking either some different rainbows or maybe 4/5 hatchets for the top or anything for a peacefull tank....

Any suggestions taken - and will be listened too
:P

You have alot of bottome feeders your right with the clown loaches there are 2 types 1 gets to 6" and the other 12" i would say add some more upper water fish. Maybe a school of tetras that you like and some other fish maybe a gourami or as you say hatchets you pick but i would say yes you can add some more.

That's just repeating information that is AFAIK wrong.

Is there a definitive adult size for the Clown loaches then?

I was going from info in the Baensch Aquarium atlas of

Max Size 11 3/4" (Seldom longer than 6 1/2" in a home aquarium)

LFS also stated they should grow to around 6" 's, but then seems most people on the forum bounce around the 12" figure!

Just assume 12", there are many public aquariums with clowns over 12", they are very slow growers though.
