I'm fairly new to keeping fish, and just wanted to know if anyone thinks I should get another tank or a slightly bigger one.

I have a 8.2 gallon tank with
silver mollie pair
two dwarf guramis
two female guppies
one male guppie
and a small crab

If i got another it would only be small one though.
So do you think this amount of fish is ok for the tank size?

The dwarf gouramis need a bigger tank and will start harassing fish. The crab might have to go as it needs land in it's tank and will eventually grab one of your fish. welcome to thew addicting world of fishkeeping.

Ok, but the crab has parts of the tank where he goes out, in fact he spends much of his time out of the water...
any more advice?

I'm a long way from being an expert, but I'd say you need a slightly bigger tank for that level of stock. I have found from reading up here that my own tank is slightly overstocked now..... so no more fish buying for me for a while!

Irf.

I think we all end up overstocking our tanks the first few times......

"But it still looks so empty!"
"But this guy is on the bottom and the neons swim around!"
"Psh, pleco's stick to walls. no bother"

We think on room and ignore biotope. I know I did :/
but still..... :look:

WE make up for our mistakes... some of us... :shifty:

That doesnt answer my qestion...

Your tank is overstocked, the crabs and mollies need salt in the water as they are brackish. The crab may end up eating your other fish aswel. I'd reccomend a bigger tank, remove the mollies and the crab and then you can stock it with other fish. Or get another tank remove the mollies and put the little crab into the new small tank.

It's a good comment anyway and the first person who commented did answere your question, a slightly bigger tank would be good.
