Fish Crazy
Hi everyone, here's a few pictures of my tank taken tonight.
It's a low tech tank, Juwel Rekord 60 with the standard lighting (Dennerle Special Plant tube), Hagen C02 system and a lighting period of 4 hours on, three hours off, four hours on. I previously had this tank with 3 wpg and some more demanding plants but then I suffered from BGA about 6 months or so ago, since then I've gone back to low tech low light. It's nothing complicated just a tank for enjoyment.
The plants are nothing too demanding, just cabomba, vallis, hygro, riccia and a couple of moss balls.
I have the tank sort of split into two parts at the surface with a piece of plastic mesh - the top left has dwarf riccia floating with the C02 ladder under it, this riccia is used for putting on slates when it gets thick enough. Then the rest of the tank is a cove type layout.....
Here's the tank without the hood to help explain:
Full tank shot:
Taken from above to show the cove (inspired by the left hand side of Jimbooo's 40G tank) on the right - hard to tell but you get the idea:
Riccia floating on the surface:
The riccia is then tied to slates with hairnets:
Hygro - which started out as a few little cuttings:
.....and that's it for now, I posted some fish pics here if you want a look, would be nice to see what you all think of the layout though
