well....just looked into my tank as there was a bit of splashing and just seen a baby stingray swimming about. ime realy shocked as didnt even know the female was pregnant.. i have had to take it out as the big burcher in the tank got hold of it to eat it..so i have put it into my wifes community tank for now with little bn plecs and cories etc..it got sand in there. not sure what to do with it,,,its swimming about, what does it eat..i put bloodworm in there last night ..it also has like a cord coming off its underneith. i will try and post a picture on today,

if anyone could offer some advice that would be great thanks.

congratulations mate, dont know anything about them though, so someone should help you soon.

Mark7616, T1KKARMAN, cane76 or CFC know about rays so they will let you know, in the mean time just keep and eye on it i guess :)

Have you got any quaritine tanks as you will deffinitely need one if the ray has damage from the birchir attack. If there is damage you will need anti bacterial medicine such as esha 2000 to sort it out. Watch your wife's fish as there is a good chance that it will go after them.

how exciting :hyper: :hyper: I'm guessing that it'll eat about the same thing as the adults just smaller pieces....NOTE that is ONLY a guess. Have you tried googleing at all? See what you come up with!!!

:snap: would be awesome

congrats :good:
offer it live bloodworm earthworm and shrimp
is there much damage from the attack?
the cord falls off in a day or so

i was thinking that the little bns or cories would become food actually.

the pup cant stay in a small tank with corries and bns for long
if it cant go back in the main tank you need to think about either finding it a home or setting up a new tank
have you any pics of the parents and pup?

ditto,
rays with corries and Bn's not a great idea

hiya al. thanks for the replys. Well it was a lucky pup and didnt get damaged by the burcher and is at the moment happily playing with the cories and bn s but this is not a long term plan as you can imagine. It is perfect replica of the parents i have just sent my daughter up to take photos of it so will try and post one today. strangely enough we were going to advertise the rays for sale this week as we tired last year but had the most silly offers you could imagine and when they showed signes of breeding we decided to keep them. we are still debating to sell them though as we want to sell the six foot set up..this is including a full grown siamese tiger fish..and a eel that is over 2ft long...a bit heart breaking to sell but just dont have the time i used to have. am still thinking about it...if a good offer came up would sell them its just the most awful feeling when someone offers you a couple of hundred quid for the whole thing...

anyway the ray seemed to eat some bloodworm and brine shrimp last night and is very lively so will keep an eye on him. would be interested in selling him/her for a good price.

anyway the parents are lovely they are (what we were told when we got them) smooth back rays ...

mum is looking healthy and dad

will try and put some better ones on when my camera is charged up.

the cories look huge beside the pulp! i guess they'll be fine for a little while longer. still thought yeah the pulp would have to go somewhere else.
