My Son's Fish Tank

I think its great you've got your son a tank, a properly set up, well planned one too. Personally, I think its important for kids to have some form of pet from an early age, teaches some great life lessons and I think fish are best at that.. Gives a lot of understanding and once he's older and wanting to take care of them more and maintain the tank himself (by then you'll have likely worked through larger tank after larger tank, mind  ) he'll be all the better for it :look:

bit slushy for a sunday morning, :fun:

I thought I would update this thread...

Everything is going very well. I added two Chinese Algae Eaters by mistake. I mistook them for another variety, so now we are stuck with them. Everyone is doing well, and we have yet another batch of baby mollies. This batch doesn't seem to be disappearing as rapidly as the first. 4 lived from the first batch. I think we still have 7 of this batch.

All in all the Biocube is performing great. Our plants, as you will see, are flourishing. Water specs remain very good. Algae bloom, since the plants have really taken off, and since the addition of the Chinese Algae Eaters, is near null. When I perform weekly/biweekly water changes, the floor of the tank is relatively clean. I think the plants are helping in that department.

Anyways, just three this time... enjoy!

get rid of those CAE mate unless you wanna lose the rest of your fish when the CAE grow

Folks,

Thanks again for the kinda encouragement.

Walker, as you stated, we do need to get rid of the Chinese Algae Eaters.

My plan is to take them and our additional mollies (those that are in the tank above and beyond the one that we purchased initially).

I would like to add a few more plants, maybe some more creeping Charlie (we will have to look around a bit more), and then add two Petricola Lucipinnis Catfish and maybe two Ottocinclus Catfish.

Best Regards,

Ssjrr and family.
