My Severums had eggs for the first time and just wondered if anyone had advice for me. They are wigglers now and seem to be doing great. I took their tank mates out yesterday to give the fry a better chance I had a blue botia and an african brown knife and pleco in there. Ya they're all night stalkers so I thought it best to remove them. Anyway I still can't figure out how to put pics up. Thats what I really need help with. I posted some "replies on rares gold severum breeding topic which I apologize for I should't of hijacked his like that. I am new to this forum thing so I started my own.

Well its been a few days and the wrigglers are getting bigger. I can see there eyeballs now. The parents moved them again back to the origional spot I was hoping someone could tell me how long they are in the wriggler stage for. I am guessing another 2 days or so til they are free swimming. With the other tankmates gone I think the female is getting a little more aggressive towards the male, but he is still the one that sleeps with the babies while the ma sleeps by herself on the other end of the tank. She chases him to watch the babies while she can swim off whenever she wants. Ya typical women. lol. Anyways just wondering if someones gonna respond or not.

Welcome to the forum Rage and congrats on the babies :good:

The fry will be wrigglers for about 3 days total.
Shield the filter intake with a rock or something, so when they are free swimming they dont get sucked up.
Feeding the fry is vital for their survival (obviously) so if you can get baby brine shrimp and or microworms to them more will survive.
Water change as often as possible-

"She chases him to watch the babies while she can swim off whenever she wants. Ya typical women."

 Its great to see the little arguments-the girls always get very aggressive when breeding. Try putting your hand near the babies- they will bite and its usually the female doing the biting!

Neway good luck and put some pics up

Hey thanks blue acara, I'm going to the lfs tomorrow to see about these micro worms. My intake is well guarded and it was actually the male that attacked when i was trying to catch their tankmates while the female stayed close to the wrigglers. Anyway still trying to figure out how to put up pics. ?????????????

to post pics put you photos on photobucket.com or similar, then get the img code copy and paste it on the post. :good:
