I currently have a 42 gallon Oceanic hexagon tank with:

1 Marble Angel (1")
1 White Angel (1.5")
1 Black Angel (1")
1 Almost Translucent Angel (1")
1 Black Molly (1.5")
1 Red Sailfin Molly (1.5")
1 Green Sailfin Molly (1.5")
2 Blue Rams (1")

All of the fish are getting together great! The mollies love to clean the tank up.

What does everyone think of this mixture of fish?

AquaClear 70 (formerly 300) Power Filter

- Maximum Output: 300 U.S. Gal. (1135 l) per hour
- Full Flow Control: 100 U.S. Gal. (378 l) per hour
- Power Consumption: 6 W
- Maximum Aquarium Capacity: 100 U.S. Gal. (378 l)

That is the filtering system that I am using. I have an assortment of fake plants, a large sunken ship, and a fake rock structure.

Sounds fine, but you know mollies do better with a bit of salt when they are adults.

I have heard that before but have also heard contradicting opinions if it is really needed or not.

How will the other fish deal with the salt?

yaeh, mollies tend to prefer harder water, angels softer water. But if they're tank bred then they'll be happy in a wider range of water hardness. If they're healthy and you like them, that's all that matters. Sounds good - have you got any pics?? :D

Black Mollies in particular require brackish water. And most mollies would benefit from some salt added to their water. This unfortunately doesn't suit most other community fish.

Post some pics :)

Sorry for the bad picture quality. My P&S doesn't take great pictures. I need a SLR!

All of the other fish did not like the camera and are hiding in the back of the tank.

The massive sponge is to keep the angels away from the intake of the filter. I have lost a couple angels that way. :/

I need to fix the fake plant in the back. For some reason it lifted out of the substraite.

nice job. you did good with what you had

Now let's go heavy with some live plants :shifty:

looks like a great little setup so far!!! and very clean!! nice job!! live plant will set it off a treat :)

Here is a little treat. I actually learned how to take nice pictures with my little P&S.
