I'm curious what people think of these choices. I have a shipment coming Thursday from Frank's Aquarium with some lovelies I've been eyeing, and this is the best layout I can figure out with my new additions.

Tank 1 - 40 gallon, normal filtration with powerhead for extra flow (it's a tall tank). Sand substrate, heavily planted W/CO2 + ferts.

Endler's Livebearer - 5 males, 3 females (don't like the gender mix, but I had little choice when I got them. Also, 3 fry)
Phoenix Rasbora - 12 (coming from Frank's Aquarium - one or two may die)
Neon Tetra - 7 (hardy stock, only one died since I bought them, and that was due to an injury in moving from tank to tank)
Scarlet Badis - 1
Otocinclus - 3
Siamese Algae Eater - 1
Kuhli Loach - 1 (almost never see him, would like to get more, but I don't want to overload the tank)
Albino Bronze Cory - 4 (if I could redo these guys I'd get 6 pygmy cories, but one is missing a fin so they're not resalable as a group)
Amano Shrimp - 6 (I think - I never see them in one place, so it's hard to tell how many I have)
Dwarf Cajun Crayfish - 3 (get to only 1.5 inches in length and peaceful/fine in planted tanks from what I have read. I'm really hoping I made the right decision here, if not they'll go into the bare-bottom, and failing that, the LFS)
Black Mystery Snail - 1
Olive Nerites - 4 (I think)
Malayan Trumpet Snails - Countless
Ramshorn - Too many (more than one)
Freshwater Clam - 1

Tank 2 - Heavily Planted 5.5 Gallon. C02 + Ferts. Overfiltered (currently 20-gallon filter, but will be switching down to a 10 to over-filter another tank).

Dwarf African Frog - 3 (considering going down to two when my GF sets up her nano)
Pygmy Rasbora - 6 (coming from Frank's Aquarium, one or two may die)
Cherry Shrimp - 8 (currently immature)
Nerites - 2
Malaysian Trumpets - Countless
Ramshorn - Too many (more than one)

Tank 3 - "Overflow" bare-bottom 20-gallon in utility room. These are fish I don't want on display and would like to rehome. No plants, but currently has 30 gallons of filtration, which will be increased to 40. I realize this tank is bordering on massively overstocked at the moment, but it won't stay that way for long. Ideally I'd lke this tank to be a cycled breeder tank,

Guppies - 2 males, 3 females (plus a few surviving fry. One of my males got his tail shredded by a former tankmate and isn't resalable)
Zebra Danio - 5
Glowlight Tetra - 7 (would give them to LFS, but one has screwed-up gill flaps - harmless but looks crappy)
Tiger Barb - 1 (Only has one eye. Thankfully he's totally peaceful)
Betta - 1 (temporary housing while my GF moves/vacations in Asia - in breeder trap because it's better than the un-cycled death nano she had him in. He's recovering from stress and a number of cycling-related diseases).

I'm mainly writing to ask people what they think of the setup of the first two. I'm a bit worried with the 3 crays in the main tank, but otherwise it's right where I'd like. I have to admit I mainly bought them because Frank's has $35 shipping no matter how much you buy, so I wanted to get as close to my money's worth as possible.

I have a fourth, unused 20-gallon that I could set up, though I literally have nowhere in the apartment to put it ATM.

I don't normally do this, but I'm going to bump this just once. I'm still curious if anyone has any input. Maybe I just like different fish from most people
