hi all
ive had this tank cycling for 2 months its been in our shed for 3 years cleaned it out changed the power head bought a 150watt heater and i didnt take any pics of the setting up process so i will go over them.
first i washed the tank out and checked for leaks and then i bought a 8 kilo bag of tri colour roman gravel red,blue and white.
bought new filter pads and got that going after filling up and added api stress zyme (its brilliant) and api stress coat(also brilliant) and then took the only fake plant i have to make it look half decent (will be heavily planting slowly) i also added ferts to get the gravel ready for the plants and turned my heater on to 24
centigrade and put in my barrel ornament.
After 6 weeks i decided to buy another air pump and modify the fake plant and to have a bubbeling barrel so i drilled 4 holes in the plant base from underneath (it has a round base)and cut 4 shorter length scobbies(a kids weaving toy and two longer ones i threaded the for holes in the plant with the for short ones and pushed them into the air line with the two longer ones and pushed them into the holes in the barrel so it is bubbleing. and i also added a platy from one of my other tanks to do a mini cycle.
The water i put in the tank was from a freind who had a tank for 5 years i used his water to speed up the process and i went out and bought 6 neons and 2 peppered corydoras.
