I've bought a fish tank quite small 3 weeks ago. And have been treating the water for 3 weeks, once a week using antil cholrine stuff (Stress coat and something like that). The man told me it was 3 weeks. So i presumed he was correct. I then went into the same shop today and got some fish. The guy who assisted me didn't talk about types of fish and if they'd suit or not unlike the last. I bought 4 smaller fish and 2 bigger fish. Sorry, I ain't too sure what they're called though.. However when they came there wasn't too much difference in size.
Also I have a filter and everything required..
I then watched TV for abit around 3 hours after putting them into the tank gently like putting the bag in first for 30minuets so the fish can adjust to the trempreature which is 23-25 degrees. As these are tropical fish.. I then came back like I said from watching TV, only to find 2 of the smaller ones gone. I was like WTF
Now I doubt they would have gone under the gravel? I'm not too sure? Have they been cought up the filter? I don't know.. After a while, I took a water test. And the results were that the water wern't too good, it was around 2 mg. Could have they been eaten? I'm not too sure?
I'm a begginer by the way, and this was my first time. :(
Also the 2 smaller ones look ####ing starving and whenever I add abit off food they go to it SOO quickly. But I don't wanna produce to much waste.. And then the man said not to feed it much. I dno man. And also the 2 bigger ones hang around at the bottom, and the 2 smaller ones at the top? Are they too scared to go down to the bottom as they might get eaten? Have the other 2 got ate? And there's a really fat one now, he doesn't wanna eat. The 2 bigger ones at the time i got it was the same size, now 1's abit bigger?? And don't wnana eat.

have u got any photos of your fish so we can tell if the "bigger" fish would or could have ate them and mayb we could tell you what you have then... (or maybe an explanation on wot they look like lol) :)

Lol, sorry but no... i suppose i could try though mate

Stress Coat does not cycle a tank. You need an ammonia source to cycle a tank.

Next time you go to the fish store, take a pen and a pad of paper and write down what it is you are purchasing.

You said you tested the water...for what did you test the water for?

How big is your tank?

You can measure the tank & most anyone can figure out the capacity, I prefer measurements anyway. Try calling the shop you got the fish from to find out what you have.

I'll call up in the morning. My fish tank is like erm 50 cm x 50 cm from aqua one. I did water test by like a ph thing. Adding drops to a water in a tube. I use stress coat and stress zone to treat water. Yeye one of them were tetras i think the small one. and the slightly larger ones were sumin else.
