My Poor Betta =[

I feel so sorry for my poor Betta Jasper. I've put him and his fellow tank mates into my new 70 litre tank. Yesterday when I did this however my Cherry Barbs were being extremely aggressive toward each other as I realised there was only 1 female and 3 males (despite them being in the smaller tank together no problem).
Anyway, looking at my betta today all of his back fin looks frayed and torn =[ he had a lovely slender fin before and was perfect with no cuts or anything! I can only assume he Cherry Barbs have gone for him?
Will it grow back to how it was before or will it always look a bit tattered now?

It will probably not completely grow back to how perfect it previously was but given time, it should repair itself quite well.
If you believe that the Cherry Barbs caused this (they can be fin-nippers) then you need to either separate the Barbs or the Betta to prevent this from continuing. See how he goes for a while and if his fins do not begin to naturally repair themselves then try using BettaFix or diluted MelaFix :good:

Hi Kelly-Jo,
After realising I only had one female I have since bought and added 2 more females and my cherry barbs have completely calmed down.
I think maybe they just got over excited and territorial after being put into a bigger tank with much more room!
I will keep an eye on him and his fins, and if they aren't doing well I'll dose with melafix as I have some in store.
