My Platy

I counted 9 frys to date. Hopefully they will start going up more so they will eat. Here's a pic of two of my platy's frys. BTW, she's back with the rest of the fishes. My frys are by themselves in the divider. Any tips on what to feed and how to feed fry? I bought Baby Fish Formula (Nutrafin) and (Wardley)Baby Fry liquid food. How do you attract them to come get the food? My frys were born 23Oct early morning.

Are they better off in the divider or should I catch them and put them in box trap breeder net?

they will be fine in the divider, more growing space, glad she finally gave birth, bet the kids are loving the babies arent they.

food wise finely crushed flake will be fine, you may have to make it sink to get them to notice it for a while but eventually they will get the hand of it :good:

i have a Q :
my guppy gave birth to over 20 fry last night
so crushed flakes are grand? how long after birth do you have to feed them and how many times a day?

hope you dont mind that i used this tread ?

thanks

should be fine. they wont eat immediately as they have their own reserves. typically my platy and molly fry eat on the second or third day. feed them a tiny amount crushed up, 4-6 times a day.

My platy gave birth a little over 2 weeks ago. I pulled about a dozen fry out of the main tank and put them in a small tank because I didn't want them to become fish food. I notice that there are still around a dozen survivors in the main tank. How large or how old do they have to be before the platies, molly and cory cat (I don't think the neons or otos will be an issue.) don't consider them dinner?

Wow! You have lots of fry compared to my platy had...only 9 frys to date. My frys are in a divider same tank. Just have one tank for now, so they have to share for the moment while I cycle a new one. Size wise I think when the frys are of size that they won't fit on the other fishes mouth for food. 3 months is what they say they can joined the community tanks. My frys are kinda small since the mother is a dwarf sunset balloon platy.
