My Platy Just Gave Birth!

hi,

my black and orange platy just gave birth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got back from school at around 4:10 and found 10-15 platy fry!

great isnt it , it doesnt matter if they are guppy, molly, platy, krib, mbuna all fry births are great, they make you feel good about yourself.
are you going to raise these fry or just let nature take its course?

i havent got anything else to put them in, i have a breeding trap but it has holes in the bottom

erm....... have you got a small tub?, you could keep them in there for a few days, and if you can, put an airstone in the tub and try floating the tub in the main tank so the water temp wont drop.

just do this until you get a small breeding trap or small tank.

may u should get a breeding net or tank. if u do let them be brought yp naturly they are likely to be eaten.

just put them in a jarwithlittle holes on the top and sink it in the tank. That way you will have time to get a breediing net/trap

or you could catch them put then in a small clean tub with water from the tank then transfer back to the net and attach the net to the hood or tank just above water level, they will be safe in there until you get trap

i meant the top of the net just above water level not the whole thing, that didnt sound good did it
