Well I have a journal for this tank but I wanted to put a few pictures all in one post to show the growth over the period of around 3 months. Also wanted to get a load of photos in without all my normal waffle in between them :) Enjoy!

My whiptail, I havent been able to get a good pic of him since he went into the tank but he has changed colour (gone slightly more vanilla colour with darker stripes).

My little girl, this picture does her colours no justice at all. Her Partner doesnt stay still long enough to get a good picture.

Some Random hitch hikers I picked up from somewhere. No idea what they are (some kind of dragonfly larvae). I have took about 6 out of these of my tank and still keep finding them

Thanks for the kind comments so far.

Yeah the Whiptail is my fav (closely followed by the Rams). I'm actually really happy as over the last couple of days he has decided to start being a bit more social and I actually get to see more then just a tip of a fin or tail poking out from behind the wood or plants :)

I will try and get a better picture of him now as his colour has really changed quite a bit.

Great looking tank and fishes and shrimps

Yeah currently it has:

10 Flame tetras
16 Silvertip Tetras
1 whiptail
6 Peppered Corys
Unknown amount of Cherry Shrimp (started with 12 and will be at least double that now).
Pair of Rams

I have been debating get some danios or Cardinal tetras.

The Dragonfly Larvae is bad bad news, they will eat anything they can catch, id seriously look at finding the source of them rather than just removing them as you see them. They can live between 1-5 years as a Nymph before moving to the tank surface and then splitting out of their skin into a Dragonfly and flying off.

They would have come in on one of the plants. Not a great deal I can do about them now unfortunetly other then grab them out as I see them. So far though all the fish are ok (even the very small female silvertips I have) and there are loads of baby cherry shrimp which are more then small enough to be made a meal of. This could always change once the larvae get bigger but short of ripping everything out and treating I'm just going to have to live with them :(

They have been in there for at least 2 months with no damage done so far so I can only hope it stays that way.

amazing tank . how do you get the plants to grow so well ???

Lots of ferts, light and CO2 (in the right concentrations) :) Have a look at my journal for more in deapth details on what I use (and look at the other journals in the planted section for even better tanks and other ways of doing things).

I have put this picture up elsewhere on this site but guess its worth putting here as well. I have my first fry!! Its a little baby Flame tetra that I saw this weekend while I was rescaping a bit. I think I have at least two in there but its hard to tell (the 6inch whiptail can completely vanish so a 5mm Flame tetra has no problems with hiding away :) ).

Anyway heres the pic :) :
