My Planted Tank And Its Inhabitants

Hi Barney, great tank m8, my planted tank has been running for 8 weeks now, glad I deciced to go with live instead of artificial ones.

A bit wierd seeing the dragonfly larvae, as someone had wrote into PFK magazine this month, and said he had dragonflies flying around under the hood, suppose like you say they came in with the plants or something. ;)

Yeah I read that as well :)

I haven't seen any for a long time so I'm hoping I managed to get them all. Really is a lesson to anyone else though to make sure you rinse new plants really well before adding them to your tank (though I'm still not convinced it would do any good in getting rid of eggs).

The live plants really do bring something nice to the tank and while it does make it a lot harder work it is well worth it. The do an amazing job of filtering the water as well (I'm pretty sure that if my filter stopped working the plants would be able to prevent an ammonia spike).

Barney, just noticed your tank was featured in the PFK newsletter email. Great choice by the PFK  :D

Edit: Forgot to say congrats on the Flame Tetra babies. Well done!

lol, thanks, I was pretty happy about that :D

Was quite funny when I checked my email earlier and thought "that looks familiar" :)

I finally managed to get a picture of my whiptail so will try and get it uploaded later.

My Rams are laying eggs!! :D

Got a few photos, hard to get pictures of the eggs as they are pretty well hidden. Photos below are in the journal too but wanted to post them here as well as not everyone looks in the planted journal section :)

Whiptail, I can never get a good picture of him, he always has at least half of his body hidden up :)
