ive decided my 35liter tank is going to become my first tropical tank and im very excited:D

ok so heres my plan i give my goldfish out of my 35liter tank to a pond owner/lfs then i wash the filter media in the tank water  and put it in some tank water why i revamp the goldfish tank take out the gravel bin it take out 70% of the water and add a new heater and some nice looking tropical gravel and also some live small plants i then refill the water up place the filter back in and set the heater on and leave for one day.

the next day i go buy two guppies one male and one female i then set them in the tank and take the best care i can of them for 5weeks and hopefully they will breed:D when she is giving signs she is near the birth stage i will set-up a 10liter tank and put the filter of the 10liter in the 35liter to get some of the bactira in it:) then when the female guppie is very near bith she will be transported to the 10liter once she has given birth she will go back into the 35liter:)

then i will put the filter in the 10liter and put on minium flow so the fry don't get swirled around the tank i will then for the next week or so feed them crushed flakes and this point is the point i need help on  i need to know when to start feeding them and what to feed them and how long for and also how to care for this tank :)

i will then add the guppies to the adult tank once they get to a inch and move on with my new started fish life:)

please post any help tips hints and ideas and anything you feel must be mentioned don't worry about my 35l tank will be overstocked with 20+fry because some will die/eaten/sold to lfs:)

A quick tip, get a sponge type filter for the fry tank and stick it right into the tank when you start with the guppies. By the time the fry are ready to be born, the sponge should be cycled to support them. Right now I have 3 extra filters on my tanks so that I can set up a new tank on a moment's notice. The 35 litre is about the right size to raise a single drop of guppy fry, a 10 is very small for that. The guppy fry can be kept in the tank with the parents as long as you have plenty of cover for them. I use java moss like this as cover for my small fish. This lump of java moss is in a 10 gallon, 35 litre, tank. You can just see an adult Heterandria formosa near the top left of that clump. The adult fish swim around the outside but the fry will swim right through.

The fry can be fed crushed flake from birth and need to be fed at least twice a day from the beginning. They do not eat much but they can't hold much in their tiny bellies until they get bigger. It is best to do lots of water changes on a fry tank too. A change of 50% of the water 3 times a week is not too much for them.

sounds good good id provide cover i have this brillent ship wreck aswell perfect for the fry and the adults won't bother them thier:)

Umm your whole plan sounds great except that I would have 2 females and 1 male. THe only reason behind that is the male will harass the female forever if shes all alone. Make sure you DO NOT do 2 male and 1 female!
