nice fish, but is that a dead fish in the background of the first pic?
Also betta's done tend to get on well guppies.
As for the plants I'm pmsl as all bar on plat I've seen are all fakes so i doubt their grow to fast
Hi, helterskelter,
if what you were saying was that the plants there were all fakes, does that mean they weren't modelled on real ones, as they usually do seem to be?
Because if there is a real plant that looks like that and will grow in a moderate light, soft water type of environment, I'd like to know what it is.
If it's something mythical, I'd like to know this as well.
So if you know this, I'd really appreciate the info.
If you're referring to the guppy, he does look a bit clampy, and I know mine look like that sometimes when they're peeved at not being able to harass another guppy.
I have them scattered about in different tanks now, as they tend to wear each other to a frazzle when kept together.
I've got 'feeder' guppy/endler crosses (one per tank only) in with some of my bettas, and it really depends on the betta whether it works or not.
The wild-type guppies/endlers with the smaller tails don't really resemble bettas or seem to trigger the problems which might be expected with the large-tailed fancy-type guppies.
Although my more heavily-finned bettas, (half moon/super delta types,) seem not only better tempered than, say the notoriously crabby crowntails, (both of my crowntails are living alone) but know they have no chance of catching any other fish and really don't seem to try.
And if there's heavy planting/cover, there aren't the same issues as might arise in a tank with no privacy.
I presume that if there were problems in this case that NottsFishy would shift the guppy/guppies out, although I expect we'll find that out quite soon.
One of the cool things about bettas is that they do have such very different personalities...
