My Otos Have Stopped Eating Algae..

i have 3 otos in my 20 gallon. i bought them a while ago specifically for brown algae and they did a great job. but now the algae has slowly built up and it seems like they're makin no effort to stop it. is this possible? should i buy a couple more otos to see what will happen or would that be pointless? my tank is pretty much stocked to the max, i dont want to add fish if it wont help the algae problem.

Are they any tankmates that could be making the Otos feel nervous, stopping them from being confident enough to graze?

eh, not really. there are three dwarf gouramis in the tank and the one male can get aggressive at times but there is plenty of algae all over the tank and they seem to ignore it.
