Hi. I am hoping someone who knows a lot about cichlids can help me. I have had my Oscar from fairly small for like 3 or 4 years. He always used to respond to being fed and people moving around, and almost bite ya finger off, very characteristic. For a while now though he is looking really sorry for himself. He is pale, thin, often hides or lays near the bottom, hardly eats if at all. I haven't changed anything in the tank or procedures I go through and I can see no visible reason for his sickening. He has been like this for a good few months now and I keep thinking one day he will die of whatever this is! Can anyone suggest what's wrong with him?

What size is the tank? (also shape, ie corner or long)
Frequencies and amount of water changes?
Filtration?
Tank occupants?

Also if you could post your water stats (Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate) people will be able to help more readily
