Never seem to get round to posting pics of my tanks (well not recently anyway).

And having some difficulties with this camera.....it is getting on a bit and has been everywhere with us for the last few years.....it is beginning to show it's age (autofocus is shot and you have to focus using the macro settings).

Anyway.....some pics of my 5ft x 18in x 20in tank....around 93 US Gallons.

Inhabitants: 1 x Oscar (still quite young), 5 x Silver Dollars, 4 x Clown Loaches, 1 x L001 Plec.

Running an Eheim 2328 and a Fluval 203 on it.

Couple of full length shots:

Oscar and one of the SDs are the biggest fish in there at the moment.

Thanks for looking!

I will try get a pic of the plec when I feed them later.........he is always hiding......

The clown loaches don't seem to sit still enough for a pic...........but when I put some food in...again I will take a pic or two.

Mr O is around 6 inches now (including tail).....we have had him for about a month (can't remember when exactly).

I was pleasantly surprised that the SDs were nice and active.....I had heard that they are quite skittish....but ours definately aren't....they really do sweep up and down the front of the tank.....and shoal nicely. :good:

very nice, how do you do with the SD's and plants? considering putting some in with my O but the plantings really good in there, don't want it to get demolished by them. some say it will some say if i feed plenty of veggies then it wont, what's your experience been?

Thanks for all the kind replies

Hmm...well....being brutally honest.......the SDs eat plants.....I tried to take a couple of pics of them nibbling the swords..

When I first set the tank up.....I overdid the feeding for the first 10 days....(filter had been running on my 55g and was just a straight swap over).    I was feeding the greedy oscar, and at the same time feeding everything else in the tank...a couple of times a day. Had a Nitrite/Nitrate spike.....but luckily caught it and sorted it. At that time, when there was plenty of food around, the SDs left the plants alone.

Nowadays...they do like a little graze....I am hoping to get the balance right, so that they only graze as much as the plants grow.....but at the end of the day....if they get eaten they get eaten......

I do like a planted tank though...so would consider non-edible (almost) plants.

fair enough, think it's gonna be pretty damn hard to find a balance where they don't eat my plants and i don't overfeed, maybe not a good option then!!
