of course but know that they like water alot more than land as salamanders like land alot more then water. this is a newt and loves his water but you must put a floating dock in the cage so he can get out here and there. i have had him for two weeks and havent seen him go on it though.

I had a newt once (kid at school gave him to me) when I was very young - called Eggbert, lol - had him for ages, then one day he escaped and was found in the hallway, so my mum made me take him and put him in the local duck pond

AAAAW! He's lovely! What kind of conditions do you need to keep a newt? I'd love a newt. especially one as cutey as Irwin!

i keep him in 70 degrees, in about 6 inches of water. i have a little dock and some live plants for him. also i have a log filter that he can hide under. o ya i keep him in a 20 gallon. about up to 5 average newts could go in it.
i recommend one!
