I picked up some new discus today, I treated myself to one adult of 5+ inches! :hyper:

She is a red dragon:

I forgot the name of this one, but it was a cross between a Red Melon and something else:

While I was there I saw a tank in the back with an assortment of fish that weren't the greatest looking but a few looked pretty good, so I asked him what was that tank? He said, Oh, those are fish that don't have the right shape or right color (basically rejects), he says, you don't want those, I sell those for $10. to beginners or I sell them to the LFS. But I saw one that looked pretty good (his imperfection was that he didn't have the right body shape) but I took him anyway for only $10.!

First and last were nice, the rest I didn't think much of :(. Thanks for sharing :D.

Nice fish! Where were these guys from? That first guys looks amazing. Did you quarantine though? It is always good to quarantine the fish for a minimum of 3-4 weeks (6 being ideal.) After a few weeks of the new fish looking healthy, you add your runt to the hospital tank. If he survives then you know the fish are good to go in the tank. It's mean but it's the best way to tell if they are healthy, and he could save your entire stock!

I got a new fish today too from Sunrise Tropicals! I will have to get some pictures up after QT is done.

those are a very colourful discus you must be lucky bieng able to care for those delicate fishes. If I can,I will bring home a lot of these cichlids.

I got them from Discus Madness in NJ.

Sunrise tropicals have some nice fish, I have been tempted to order from them. My tank is pretty much full now so I guess that will have to wait.

I did not QT them as I didn't have a spare tank, but I trust Mathias, I have gotten all my Discus from him without a hitch.

Good to know! Thought maybe you were going to buy from Gulf Coast Discus as you posted some pictures.

I was going to but they did not have the ones I wanted, they were sold out. Plus they do not ship in the traditional sense, instead of shipping and charging you, they require you to have your own Fedex account and they use your account number to ship. That annoyed me and I didn't want to deal with it.

So I took a 1.5 hour drive instead....lol.
