been settin it up slowly over the past week and used old gravel and filter to try and help cycle the juwel faster.

its going to be home to the four angels but im still not sure about decor and other fish.
I'm thinking more bogwood and vallis but not sure about the fish. deffinately want corys for the bottom.
open to suggestions :D

its 48" long, 21" deep *water level 18* and 16" wide. its the rio 240.
run by the juwel with 600 lph and the clearseal 1000 lph.

looks real good! I especially like the way you have placed the plant to the left. Once the java fern on that piece of bogwood fills out it will look great!

Don't be tempted to overcrowd, let it fill out first and then decide if you need to add more plants.

Ben :)

Nice! Especially like the sand and gravel mix it looks really effective.

thanks for the feedback. the bogwood is two seperate pieces and the piece with the fern i have had for a year and is about 8 inches wide.

the gravel and sand i have hopefully kept apart as much as possible. i used flexible rulers joined together and bent them into shape, then slatted through bits of another ruler at the bottom so the sand and gravel can sit on it and hopefully it wont spring out lol.
want to get some tall grass like plants as well.

The sand/gravel combo looks great....I'd get more bogwood and some rocks to fill it in....but your doing great on your own so don't listein to me

Great pics!!

Looking lovely already !
Are you going to add a background ?

thanks digital, been thinking about more bogwood, but not sure if i should get small pieces or go with a big central piece. the stones sound a good idea too. see, i am listening :)

not sure about the background bloozoo2. local shop only has the boring plastic plant sheets. anywhere online in the u.k that does something different? i was thinking something dark. -_-

You could always paint the back....its a common method..though i haven't done it myself..But im sure if you were interested you could find a previous thread about it.

When i did my tanks i just went out and grabbed a bucket full of "safe" rocks...boiled them and then started playing around till i liked it...You have a tall tank so i'd maybe get a few more tall piece's of bogwood...maybe ones that almost hit the surface. But a combanation of small and large pieces would be great.

Thats what i love about my tanks....i have it set-up and after a few months i get broed and do it all over again.

p.s- have you decided what else your going to get? fish wise :)

not sure about painting it, but just seen a thread about bloozoo's black background using card and i think thats a great idea.

getting taller pieces is a good idea and ive been looking at ebay for something but though the pieces were tall they were too skinny. will keep looking though.

as for fish, no i havent decided what else to get, but as the angels will get really big it doesnt leave me much room for tank mates. i love corys but i dont know what else to get. i have a 34 gallon thats full of tetras and things so i still havent a clue :/ .

Have you checked the backs of those boring plant sheets ? ;)
They are often black or blue.

yeah i went through them all and they were just different scenes with the same colours or marine.
