Hello everyone :shout: I have a 42 gallon tank,I was going to do a comunity tank (still might) but my tap water is a ph of 8 so It would be a bit easier to get an African cichlid tank which would need a higher ph but that can be solved with the rocks you usealy find in an old world cichlid tank, can't it?any way my point is.What mbuana, malawi or taniakan community can I have in a 42 gallon?

thanks

A pH of 8 is perfect for a mbuana/malawi Cichlid tank!

What are the dimensions? 42 gallons would probably be best as tanganyika, because mbuna need a lot of space for their high-speed chases, and it is best to have a lot of them to spread the aggression.

in inches
across the front:48.8
from front to back:14.9
from top to bottom:12.5

So what fish could I have in a tanganyika community?

I was thinking about 12 saulosis (9 females&3 males) because i have heard they are small, and I've seen they look beautiful.Do you think I can add another speicies of cichlid to the tank or are the saulosis enough?
