Fish Fanatic
I finally went and got my fish for my 55 gal tank last night. I got all my fish through a friend who raises malawi cichlids, and this is what I got:
6 - Yellow labs
4 - Red Zebra's
3 - Blue alis
6 - german red peacocks
6 - Haplochromis sp. "Thick Skins"
I know this is a lot of fish for a 55 gallon, but all the fish are 1"-1 1/2". I wanted to put all the fish in at once so they will grow at the same time, and hopefully will cut down on some fighting. I know it will not work with some of the fish, but I will keep the good ones and sale the bad ones.
I might end up getting rid of the haplochromis sp because I heard the can be really aggresive, but we will see how they behave. The final count of fish I want in this tank will be
3-4 labs
1-2 male german red's
1 male ali
2-3 red zebras
and 1 male haplochromis and 2 females
It will be a fun time watching these fish grow, and the best part about all of this is I spent $50 for all of these fish. Can't beat a good hook up
