I dont know if you can remember me saying about me getting an albino oscar off my uncle, i asked you if it would be ok in a 4ft 39gal tank for a month or so, well i just got him/her on friday, its really nice looking, it in the 39gal tank with my 2 angle fish and pleco, im running a eheim 2224 and a fluval 4+,it seems to be ok with the angel fish, they are in breeding mode btw lol:crazy:
anyway heres a few pics, its about 5inches long.

what you think  sorry about the reflection

i was thinking of selling the 39gal and buying him either a 55gal or 75, maybe in 2months, would that be ok, he has plenty of room for now.

I would go for the 75, it gives an oscar more room to turn, as well as the larger water volume helping with water quality. I would put some more taller objects to the left side of the tank for the pair of angels, they will then consider this their territory, giving the oscar the other end of the tank.

Also buy or make a divider if you don't already have one. This is one piece of equipment overlooked when dealing with n.w. cichlids.

ill have to take a few pics when hes grown abit, i think he has one of the nicest colourations ive seen on an albino, i dont know if you can see but on his dorsal fin there are black red and orange spots, looks awsum

dunno maybe i'm overreacting but looking at the width of that tank compared to the fish in the first pic, i don't think he'll be happy in that tank a whole lot longer. :dunno:

Also I would get rid of the pleco he(Oscar) is going to try and eat it for sure mine did and it almost killed him the barb/fins on them will get stuck in his mouth.. You can buy a scrub pad from the lfs to clean the glass with. the pleco will poop more then he will clean for sure and also they(pleco) need at least 55g alone because of there size can be 2+ feet easy.. You want to keep your nitrates blow 20pp at all times with 5 to 10pp being the best the better the water the faster he will grow.... This is just IMO

ok thanks for the info ppl, the tank is a foot wide, is that too small for him at this age?
