My New Nicaraguensis Cichlids!

Thanks all, yeah Im really pleased with them, I think Im finally happy with my tank. :fish:

thats quite a sexy collection of fish there minx how big is your firemouth as mine is about 2" and he chases my filament barbs and my steindachneri around a lot

Just under 2", he was a placid little guy, didnt bother the sev's or anyone else until I added the aureus, then he went beserk, so I figured get another one, spread his attentions, so when I added the nic's as well he decided he didnt like them either, but now he has 4 to chase around, which means hes pretty tired most of the time and they dont really take much notice of him, Im sure he will calm down, in fact overnight it looks like he has, still gives chase, but gives up quickly

dam girl youve been and got yourself some sexy sexy fish the last few days. have to admit im a little jealous of those aureus lol. some great finds there . youre gonna have to update with more pics as the aureus colour up. they are already lovely but cant wait to see them develop.

They are fab, spent most of today watching them all, the aureus have coloured up well, its just a pain to photograph them as they move quickly and Im pants with a camera  But I shall try my best :)

I found them....(Hmmm should I give it away!) at MA in Mere Park, Newport. Its quite a way to go and they were pretty expensive, but well worth it IMO. I took the last two gal Nic's, the boys were bigger but no where near as colourful.

They do have some good fish there, always more expensive than anywhere else, but then you get what you pay for.

I'd love to set up a breeding tank for the aureus, get another 4 or so and get a pair, but I just cant afford it right now (at £15 per fish!!!) and I imagine by the time I can, they wont have any more left. As I said, Im pretty sure they are both boys too.

They're looking amazing Minx, May have to have a ride out there and see what else they have, apparently its only a few miles away from where my brother is at uni and i never knew

Lol you just need a pond for those goldies and hey presto theres your breeding tank
