Yep, mines down to 2 extensions of the spraybar and pointing slightly towards the surface about an inch below it.

Likewise and situated at the end of the tank and the flow goes all the way to the opposite end of a 4 footer, did have the three set up at the back of the tank but it was blowing the substrate all over the place at full tilt

If you put the media from your current filter into the 1200 now then you can remove it straight away.

+1 - i removed the carbon from the ex1200 and squeezed in the sponges from the internal into the space left, mine flows from back to front pointing upwards to break the surface
