My New Female Betta

I agree wholeheartedly with Tokis. Better to be safe than sorry!

I breed and raise Betta fry, by the way, and can attest to the fact that many young males will fool you into thinking they're young females. So you treat them like a girl, and, next thing you know, you have a male tormenting your other females.

What can also help you is the size of him/her. If your fish gets bigger then 2 and a half inches your newly bought fish is actually called a slender betta. It resembles one from the slender and long body compared to the common Siamese Fighting Fish female. It is a beutiful fish. Props to that. And if it is a slender betta you got a good deal. You could tell she was very well breed because of the fins and color.
Much love
