If I am reading this right, you can raise the hardness in the tank by using baking soda??

Nice set up Jennybugs! I hope al the plants work out well for you. I would like to put some in mine but my sal is to high, i need some sea grass!!

Yes, adding baking soda will increase the carbonate hardness (KH). GH (general hardness) = Permanent Hardness (Calcium and Magnesium) + Carbonate Hardness
