OK so I'm thinking it is the PH its not as low as they like it to be. It's at 7.0 I want it down to 6.5. I am slowly working on getting it down. Dose anyone have some pointers on how to get it down?

Any ways. I pertty sure I have a pair. So the one I think is a boy is dong great. He swims around looks for food in the rocks, and is very outgoing. The other one the smaller one I think its a girl. She is just sitting on top of the log in the tank and not doing much of anything. I am worried about her. Is the male pushing her around? Is it the water? I just got them yesterday. And I did the drip method it took and hour. Then I put them in. They did great. Stuck close to each other and were swimming around just fine. Now today the little one is being shy.

I checked the nitrites and the nitrates. I checked the ammonia. Everything is good except the Ph is kind of high for them.

What's it's deal?

Its a 36GL tank with a few other peaceful small fish.

Ph shouldn't be doing that, I have my Ph at 7.5, and my Rams breed on a regular basis.

As for the male pushing her around, you tell us, only you can find that out...

How are the colors of the fish? Any apparent sign of disease? How are you bringing the Ph down?

Like said, it has only been a day, so the fish are probably still getting adjusted, just keep an eye on her.

OK so you don't think it has to do with Ph. Everything I have read said that they should be in soft water with a low PH.

As for the male chasing the other one. I have seen him do it just a few times never a lot. Just doing what cichlids do.

As for color the first day she was fine and looked great. Today she is showing more black markings. No signs of parasites or fungus. We will see what tomarow brings. So it could just be due to the fact she is still adjusting? She is just acting stressed.

Yes, it is hard to say where the stress is coming from, is she eating? How are the other fish in the tank?

Ok So I see now that as my male gets more and more comfertable with the tank. He is becoming more and more territorial toward the other one. Now I think the other one is a female it does not have a pointed dorsal fin and no prominent blake spot. Also this shy fish is a tiny bit smaller. As for eating I saw her find a pellet and then spit it out and swim away. So I am not sure if she is. I see her picking on stuff around the tank. My other one is a pig he eat everything. He also gets along with all the other fish. He's exactly what a little ram should be like.

They are in a 36GL tank with lots of plants and decorations for hiding. Witch is what the little Ram does all the time HIDE. She swims around and tries to stay out of site.
I have 7 red tail Rasdora and 4 female battas. I am going to moe the bettas into a 20gl tank of their own. I also have a candy strip Pleco but I don't even know where he is.
The Rasboras don't bother anyone they just eat and swim. The Bettas are too busy with each-other they don't bother the Rams. One time I saw the dominate female betta nip at the shy ram. That was it. All the other one just think she looks funny and swim away.

This sucks because when I first put them in they were friends and it was so cute. NOW not so much.

OR should I move the shy ram to her own tank. Or do you think they will get over think?

Personally, I would move the Ram to a hospital tank, it just doesn't seem right... Spitting out pellets, not eating, and lack of interest/hiding may be pointing to internal parasites, but you can't be certain.

My breeding Rams fight the heck out of each-other, especially if they have babies. The male won't let the female go near and then the female ends up getting mad and fighting back. Fins are nipped, but color stays great and the main thing is both are out and about, with healthy appetites.
