My New Bettas

Hey guys im new and picked up 2 male bettas. The blue one is very agressive while the red one is very calm.

How come the middle is divided though off like that though?

Thanks for the welcome. When i got the fish tank it didnt have a slot for the divider to go in the middle of the tank because it is really soppouse to be divded for three fish and i didnt want to make it unfair by having one of the bettas have more space then the others. I was going to alternate everyday with who gets the bigger side but im just going to mod it when i clean the tank in 3 days. I will make a slot for one divider in the middle.

Ah that's right. My one friend has a tank like that. You can divide into three but not two sections. My bad with that one, just wasn't thinking.

Good idea, I was going to suggest trying to mod it

You migh want to have a bigger plant or a hide that they can go behind/in for sleeping or in case they just want some privacy. Also a way for them to "get away" from each other

You can also fill the tank up a bit more so they have a little more swimming room. I usually leave about an inch of space between the top of the tank and water line

Great accomodations for 2 bettas. The only thing that concerns me is that it doesn't look like you have a top on your tank. Bettas are jumpers, you know. Hope these guys don't try out their acrobatic skills.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I will find a top for them and also will do the mod but i think i might straghtin up the dividers and get a female to live in between. I was also planning to get some bigger plants and also some rocks or something they can go in and hide.

Your Bettas are absolutely beautiful!
Keep a close eye on them though as they may end up getting stressed if they can see each other all the time. I've got my boys in a divided tank and they could see each other. One of them was going crazy trying to get to the other one, even bashing quite hard against the divider. I ended up frosting the divider so they can no longer see each other and tranquility has resumed!
