A couple of weeks ago I was in an LFS buying some females for my 60 litre tank and I spotted this guy. I coudn't resist. Don't worry, he's not in with the females, he's in his own 25 litre tank.

The photo doesn't do him justice. My husband took it, and he's used to taking pictures of things that don't move. This guy is hyperactive.

He seems to change colour depending how the light catches him, sometimes bluey green as in the photo, sometimes a definite blue.

He doesn't have a name yet, any ideas?

Great find :good: :good:

Looks like a HM or SD Butterfly, very nice. How about calling him Rhubarb?

Well isn't he just a lovely little guy! I just love it when they change color in different light... well except when you're trying to take pics of them when they're a certain color :p heh

Hmmm.. since he's hyper.. how about something that sounds fast-paced like
Turbo
Rocket
Sonic
Speedy

etc etc etc hehe

He was labelled as SD, his tail is only just short of the 180 degrees.

The name Speedy sounds right for him. My previous male ended up being called Mr Flarey because he flared at absolutely everything, so something to do with his behaviour fits in with that. My husband suggested Oliver....as in Oliver Twist 'please sir, I want some more'. He hoovers up all his food then acts like he's starving to death.

All I need to do now is persuade my husband to take piccies of the girls.

He is lush, you should call him Karma [as in Karma Chameleon]

what a beautiful tri colour, yup he also has bf in him, i know you say he changes in certain lights but the green is just stunning, ask him to stay that colour :good: rhubarb would be the perfect name i have to agree

You're so lucky finding a beauty like him in your lfs......he's stunning

Nope KARMA is the name I tell ya :p

I love green bettas :good:

I think what i like about bettas is their ability to change colour!

This picture is a bit blurry but it shows his blue colour.

The green colour is with him square on to the window and the blue is with the light at the side (at right angles to the green).

Due to his beautiful green colour in certain light, I would have to name him MALACHITE. After a crystal of the same hue. But then, I always name animals strangely haha! :hyper:
