I bought a Fluval 200 last week, so it's just in the process of cycling.

Up to now, I've just put a few plants in, so that I can start a little aquascaping before the fish are introduced. It's by no means finished, but I thought I'd post a couple of pics now, then post a few more over the coming weeks once it becomes a little more established.

Let me know what you think, but ignore the placement of the driftwood, as this has just been dropped in temporarily.

I already have a 100L aquarium, so I'll be moving those fish across, in order to have a larger community tank.

Current fish are mainly tetra based - penguin tetras, black neons, neons and columbians.

I also have a BN plec and a Raphael cat.

The new tank will definitely also have a group of cories with the sand substrate.

Third photo down front middle plant looks like an anubias to me. These will not grow in substrate and need tying to wood or a rock if they are not already. Also the amazon swords in the back left corner of your tank and the cryptocoryne wendtii you've got will do much better with some root tab fertilisers. Apart from that I would say you just need to buy a whole lot more plants. At least double what you already have to help outcompete algae which is bound to appear in a newly set up tank.

:good:

Thanks for the comments jonesy. As I said in my original post, the tank is by no means finished, and I will be adding a lot more plants while the tank is cycling. You're spot on about the anubias though - I already have one tied to a piece of driftwood, and the others will also be tied to driftwood once I find suitable pieces.

Thanks for the info on the root tab fertiliser - that's actually a question I was going to ask in the planted forum, but don't need to now :D
