I've been waiting ages (like a month) to finally get this puppy, and I'm sure most of you have read one of my plethora of questions about doing the switch, so I doubt this is new news.

So here it is from the beginning

The old 35

Plants in place (there will be many many more plants, and another piece of wood) *Notice the fan on the ground... The guy I bought the tank from didnt tell me how to hook the filter up, just telling me that the filter itself was good to go. Since hes a friend, I trusted him. Meanwhile, the stupid O-ring wasn't in place. Needless to say, I had a monster puddle on the ground, sucked it up with the wet/dry vacuum, and am now trying to dry it out to avoid rotting carpet. Super fun.

Last pic for the night, super cloudy but the water just hasn't settled yet. This is the light it came with... only 40 watts - I will be going up to like 200 watts in the next few weeks.

For starts, I will add all the fish in my sig. Hoping to add some angels in there too. Now seeing how massive this tank it, I think I might try some rams and a small loach or three.

Any ideas?

There is a hood, but it's too small. I would only be able to mount 3 lights, and I probably need 4 or 5. I need to draw up some plans for a new hood. Kinda stinks though. I had just made a brand new one for my 35 like a month and a half before I found out I was buying this one.

Looks wonderful! I wish I had room for a 90 (I can see my piano appearing on e-bay!)

I don't know your water chemistry but bear in mind that Rams need soft, acidic water to thrive - ask Jimbooo!

Good luck with the development ;)

Hmmm. I'm not sure how my water is. They keep them in my lfs, which is just around the corner so I would think the water would be the same, but you never know. I'll have to look into that tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up George.

Poor Milton. he just wants his stapler. Office Space is killer.

I'm putting my fish back in there tonight, and i hope to get my old lights hooked up to my new hood tonight too. I need to do some serious thinking about lights. I can get some flourescent bulbs up and running for probably 60 - 70 dollars. When I was at my lfs I was talking with some guys about lights, and they really got me thinking about the power compacts. Its $350 with a reflector and 4 65watt bulbs (2 x 6700K, and 2 x 10,000K) That'll give me 2.8 wpg versus barely 2 with the flourescent.

I think this is the tank that I will use forever now. I wanted a 125g long, but i love how tall this is. So I wouldn't really mind spending the extra on a light system if I know it will last for a long time.

Any thoughts? George... what do you think?
(you're gunna regret helping me... I'm going to ask you everything. mwa ha ha ha. Don't worry. I'll be good)

So today I got all the plants moved around where I want them, and the other driftwood in place. I just finished moving the fish into thier new home. They are all exploring, and my cories and otos haf found thier area in amongst the Val on the left. I am really happy with the lay out, but I can't wait until the cloudiness clears and the water is perfect.

So here goes.

This is the front view of the tank with everything in place

And the much larger piece on the right. I love this driftwood. Its perfect. I have some java fern tied in the bottom there. I hope it just takes off and gets huge.

Thanks for looking! Ill have more pics once the water clears up!

The driftwood came with the tank. My friend bought the tank from his uncle who spent a fortune on the wood (upwards of $200 CAD)

Both pieces are screwed to a piece of slate, so they aren't going anywhere.
