Okay, I just set this tank up about a week ago, and I'm planning on adding fish in a few days.
(Please excuse the mess around the tank)
Here's a full tank shot:

Here's a (Blurry. Sorry) picture of the cave I built:

And a (dark, again, sorry) landscapeish sort of thing:

What do you think?

I wouldn't place Danios or shoaling fish in a tank that small, they like to have shoals of atleast 3 or more, plus they're quiet active, go for something small that needs minimal swimming space. Dwarf puffers come to mind, aswell as bumblee bee gobies (brackish water fish)

The black sand is very nice and so is the cave, I think a dwarf puffer or 2 would be a good addition.

:good: :good: :good:

2 puffers would be alright in a 5gallon tank, I had 2 in mine a long time ago and they were fine :)

lol it's actually pretty funny cuz your tank looks like it's an Eclipse 5 Hex, which is the same tank I used for DPs :p

nice tank :good:
Before you want to buy red zebra danios please read this article http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/...p?article_id=72
Also zebra danios prefer to have large swimming space because they are very active swimmers and they prefer to be in groups of 6+.
You could put a dwarfpuffer in that tank but probably not more then 1 because they can be agressive.

Good point. I recentally visited my LFS, and they had some fish I'm interested in.
This is what I think the stocking will be now:
  • Common Guppy x2 (Male and Female), (1 Green Cobra Guppy, 1 Blue Cobra Guppy)
  • Twin Bar Platy x2 (Male and Female)
  • A funky goby I saw at my LFS x1 (it was about 1" long)
  • Maybe a small ghost shrimp for algae and waste clean-up
Would the tank be overstocked? All these fish (and invert) are small and can be kept in a 5 gallon aquarium.

Thanks,

GobyMaster

Dwarf puffers are fine in numbers as long as there are plenty of females. If you were getting 2 get one male and one female.

Can't do in that tank though. It's quite bear and doesn't break up the Puffer's eye sight. Not alot of cover.

I think the guppies and platies will be okay, so long as you make sure each species is all the same sex. The goby you're thinking of is probably a bumblebee goby, black and yellow stripes? Does that sound about right? If so, he might do better in slightly brackish water, though I've heard of fw being fine too. Not too sure on that one. However, I've heard that they can be fussy to feed, only taking live or frozen foods, so unless you're committed to that, I would stray away. And I think the shrimp would be fine.
