Okay so I'm just cycling at the moment and am deciding on my final line up. How does this work? Any suggestions or opinions are well appreciated.

2 x male dwarf gouramis
10 x Cardinal Tetras
6 x Silver Hatchets
10 x Scissortail Rasbora
6 x Albino Cories
10 x Algae Eating Shrimp

The tank is well filtered with tetratec ex700 external

it's a touch heavy but manageable, don't put them all in straight after cycling, put about three quarters of that list in then add the rest after 6 months or so.

if the DG's turn out to be fiesty they may be a bit too active for the hatchets...

if you're set on hatchetts you need to stick to very calm fish beneath them, small shoalers are good as long as they're not surface dwellers or really active (like danios), are you definatley wanting something like a pair of larger fish or would just shoaling fish be OK?

No the hatchets can go, the tank is in in my mums house and she wrote it on a list that she liked. but i'm doing the work!!! She would definately like a centre piece so for me its between a pair of rams, a trio of rosy babrs or a pair of male dwarf gouramis...

personally i'd drop the hatchetts then, they're the sort of fish that look cool in the shop but when you get them home you limit what you can do with the tank and other fish selections, then they just sit there doing absolutley nothing all day, very inactive fish. you will soon resent them!! not my favourite choice tbh.

i'd also go for rams or dwarf cichlids over the dwarf gouramis, much healthier as a general rule.
