Im going to buy some Dwarf Hairgrass, other plants and a background. I hate looking at the wires!
Sorry that there isnt any fish, I had a very bad ich and cotton wool disease outbreak and it killed 5 of my fish. :rip: For some reason my Pleco, Frog, and kuli loaches didnt have any simptoms. I guess as far as algae wise Im doing pretty good since Ive had it for 4 weeks and didnt have to clean the glass. :)

P.S If you could recommend anything then I would glady appricate it!

First of all nice pics. Second of all I never knew kulli loaches could bury themselves in gravel. Third of all what kind of pleco is that, it looks like a common pleco? If it is a common pleco you will need to get it a bigger tank like a 55g because they can get up to 18"- 2 feet.

Looks very nice. The two plants, one of which is behind the pagoda, will grow like mad. I have some. If you trim it off when it gets too long you can just push it into the gravel and it carries on growing. You should never need to buy anymore! Sorry if you already know that. I think it is called Egeria Densa (identified it from a plant website) . :)

I think it is a common pleco but if it isnt then its probably a Trinidad Pleco. Thanks for the comments! Good thing I didnt buy the plants already!

I just now bought a cherry barb, 2 daino zebras, and a False Julii Cory Catfish. I also took my sister's red tail shark and daino zebra off her hands. ( doesnt care about having fish  ) You could tell cause it was bascially transparent. And her zebra compared to my new ones is two times bigger and is probably pregant. But Im not sure if the other dainos are males. :X

danios are egglayers. =) can't be pregnant. Watch out for the red tail he may become aggressive he may not. Danios should be in schools of 6 and really prefer a larger tank than 20 gallons. Barb's cories and danios all need to be inschools too. cory 3 barb??? and danio 6. I haven't crunched any numbers on your tank but if you have a common plec in there you really don't have room to add any more fish. See what you can do to manipulate your stocking to get the fish that like schools into schools. I'm not a fan of the multi-color pagoda but to each his own right. =) Overall I like your tank. Oh yeah almost forgot khuli's like to be in schools of 3 or more too.

I recommend that you invest in a 55 gallon and put your pleco in it. Then put the barbs in the 55 along with the danios and the red tailed shark.

get 2 more cories and 2 more khulis' for the 20 gallon then maybe a school of tetra's and a rubbernose pleco

I'm not trying to be mean or aggressive here so please don't take it that way. Just an attempt at constructive criticism. =) nice tank

You should be careful as to what goes in your tank. That RTBS (red tail black shark) can be really territorial and since they are fast swimmers, it is recommended that they be in at least a 4 foot tank. There isn't going to be much room for it in a 2-ft tank and your other fish may very well end up being the objects of it's aggression. See if you can take it back to the store where it came from. Also...a great place to get information about the fish that you keep is fishbase.org. I use it all the time. It's awfully informative. It may seem like everyone is ganging up on you. But really we care about the well-being of your fish as I'm sure you do. :D welcome to tff and good luck with your great 20 gal. I'll have to post some pics. of mine as soon as I plant it.

No I understand, but with fish, wont they stay small in a small aquarium? Because when I transferred my kuli loaches from my old tank to my new one they grew a lot bigger. Also how much are 55 gallons lenght wise? Because Im going to restart my lawnmowing business and I want to know how much to save.

measurements for a 55g are 48" long X 1' 9" tall X 13" wide. And yes a fish will stay small if its in a small tank but it stunts their growth and their organs and stuff continues to grow when they don't and they die because of all the pressure.

 OH! I didnt know that, ok ill see about buying a 55 gallon here soon!

The growing organs thing is still up for debate as for as I know. The fish will grow to fit a tank...literally. I have a common plecostomus in my 55 gallon that spent 3 years in a ten gallon tank...it reached 10 inches. It's organs arent' exploding or anything like that he simply was not happy in so small of a tank. Now he's in the 55 I haven't noticed any massive growth spurt or anything like that. IMHO the reason people say that a fish will only grow to fit a tank is because they often die from various causes that are made worse by the small water volume before getting bigger.

Cool that means my pleco has a chance to get bigger, he was in a 10g for 2 years then in a long 20 for almost a year and now is in a 55g. How big did your common get in your 10g torrean and how long did it take to grow to 10" in the 55g?

It wasn't mine while in the ten and it isn't really mine now. It was kept in a ten for 3 years by someone else. I took it when I got my 55 set up. Now they have a 55 setup so it'll go back to them soon. It reached the length it is now in the ten gallon. I've only had it a few months.

Just to add somthing on barbs. Barbs usually should be in a school of six. If there is too few they may kill eachother or other fish.
