There is going to be more rocks added but at the time there is enough hiding places for 4 fish.

didnt say there wasnt enough for 4fish, im mearly pointing out that there isnt many

so if ur adding more u need more rocks

some plants wud look nice

yeah some real plants woud really look nice

Real pots and malawi dont mix. If it was my tank mate I would loose the pots and fill the hole back wall with rock either slate or round river cobbles both would look ace. Bit of advice for you mate try not to mix hap, peacocks and mbuna is always asking for trouble in that size tank you could have a very nice all male peacock tank. 1 more thing your sump mate where is the media it looks empty if there i media there doesnt look to be enough. Anyways good base you have got there just a bit of work to do and you will have a sweet setup.

Whats wrong with using pots in a malawi tank?

There is going to be more rocks added to the tank so dont fret.

Also, i know there dosnt seem to be alot of filter media in there but there is quite a bit. I know you should over stock malawi tanks wich means extra filtration. We are in the process of building a rack made from plastic to put more filter pads into and sit in the centre of the sump.

Nothing wrong with pots but not really natural is it? I would just fill it with rock. I cant see and mechanical filtration you need either some ceramic rings or bio balls something like that not just pads and sponges mate.

Here is a couple of pics of my old mamawi tank on a smaller scale but to show you what I meant by the rock work.

River cobbles

Im going to get some ceramic rings this week.

What amount would be best, 400grams, 800 or 1200 grams?

Could i get 800 for the time and then add another 400 when i have more fish ?

cheers

Nice start on your setup man, I agree with mark though about the pots lol sorry. but the pile of rocks in the middle could look sweet with more of them along the back. Nice Start though, be sure and post more pics as you go, would love to see the finished result.
