Hi all,
thought i'd stick a cfew pics up of my little marine nano.
This is my first venture into keeping marine and has been a bit of a baptism of fire!!
i got the tank off of a well known auction site for a great price, but the tank wasn't in great shape. The previous owner had run it using tap water rather than RO and hence was having a massive outbreak of diatoms . there was barely any live rock in there, and using the standard filtration pads and bits that come with the tank.
I immediately stripped the tank down, but have been waiting for teh tank to settle for teh past year. It has finally stopped having little outbreaks of cyano and diatoms, is getting to where it should be.
Filtration is via copious amounts of live rock, in the display area, in the compartments at the back, and in an external eheim.
I don't dose anything, just have rowaphos running in the external to keep the phosphates down.
Stocking is just the two clowns, a cleaner shrimp, and some snails and hermits.
Mainly have softy corals such as mushrooms, but also LPS with trumpets and hammer heads.
Have just got some SPS recently. An encrusting montipora and a small frag of acropora. both of which are growing well.
anyway here are the pics:
