My livebearer breeding tank

Thanks Erised, those are pretty much my thoughts exactly, I'm not dealing with goldfish or oscars right! :p
Maybe one day I wont use it just for breeding guppies for food.

As for head counts, its up there.....

1 adult female (the tried tested and true breeder), and approx 25-30 fry, all between 1 month and 6 months, most of which are about 3 months.
I keep a good cycle of fry to juvie's going and feed my frog around 6 a week, he also gets the occasional "feeder" goldie, tubifex worms, Tetra Reptomin sticks, and earthworms every now and again.
I dont think its actually "overstocked".....heavily stocked I think is more accurate.

And, with all that said......

The "inch per gallon" rule, isnt really a rule, its a guideline....guidelines can be stretched provided you take the proper steps to ensure these stretched guidelines dont "snap", in some scenerios anyways.

LFS usually overstock "their tanks".
By doing frequent water changes, providing proper filtartion for the bioload, feeding just enough, cleaning and maintaining the tanks regularily and generally just putting a lot more effort into each tank they can get away with it.....I figured I could do it too. :D
