After recently selling some stock this tank is now home to Cherry Shrimp and 1 Apple Snail. They must like it as there is already a load of young'uns flying about the tank! :D

Here's a quick snap of it atm. Undecided about all the stems on the right hand side... Considering removing them and replacing with a load of crypts. Then completely moss the wood and add a few more baby Java Ferns to it too.

Thoughts and comments welcomed as always.

I think crypts would look great, especially if you picked say 2 varieties and stuck to those. Say, tonkinensis or retrospiralis at the back and then Tropica or something further towards the front, and something different on the left... I realise that's 3 varieties not 2! (I scrolled to look at the pic again half way through replying!)

Yey for shrimplets! And that wood is

Cheers Caz. The wood is Sumatran. Never heard of the Crypts you mentioned other than the Tropica obviously... Will have to look into them. Was thinking more of a sea of smaller varieties with just the wood sticking above if that makes sense.

? :/

Ye it does... although they'll all get big if they're happy ;) did you see Ian's in one of his old scapes? They were mahoosive!! :hyper:

No i didn't. I really like SBS's Bullosa. I know it's not small, but it is very effective! Maybe have it towards the back and then a smaller variety towards the front? What is the smallest variety?

Sounds like a better idea. I know my lfs has these in. Still tempted to get the mixed pack from plant alive though like i said to you yesterday.

You could... there's a lot to be said for just throwing them in however! (I'm doing it lol! ;)) if you had leftovers you could always put them in the 180...?

Guess it depends what look you're going for I guess... :dunno:

A bit of an update (kindly bought to my attention by Jake! :D )

Stems have been moved and the best ones replanted in my 180, the others were chucked. Crypts have replaced them with more of a scaped feel rather than scruffy chucked in feel. New Cryptocoryne Amicorum added under the filter. Expecting some melt within the week as they've only been in there a few days. The Moss has started to sprout a little more now, and is intensely green. Maybe ready to pull the odd bit off to add to the other branches on the wood. Also got a couple of tiny java fern plantlets that i may try and bunch together and glue in place somewhere amongst the wood. There is also a small Anubias Heterophylla, which, tbh, shouldn't really be in here as it gets some big #17##### leaves on it, but atm it is still small so will move it when needed.

Shrimp are doing well, quite a few young'ens flirting about and the females have really coloured up now they're a little more settled. :)
