So i looked into my community cichlid tank and saw two of my keyholes with very dark, black markings and vigourisly guarding a corner of the tank. I look over the female was laying eggs, big round ones! I was so happy. This is the second cichlid that have bred in my tank(my blue rams were the first). I have 7 keyholes so i knew i had both sexes. I will get pictures after they're finished, as they are still laying eggs on a river stone at the moment and I dont want to distract them.
Just had to boast, this is the first time my keyholes have bred!
I was wondering, i have meth blue and was wondering if i should use it? I would need a lot for my 55gallon they are in, but also on the bottle is says it can cause ammonia spikes?
So I'm not too sure I want to add it.
This has been a good week since my pygmy cories have also laid eggs recently and my female khuli loache is FULL of green eggs. Cupid must still be here from valentines day.
